Tamper-evident seals: what they can and cannot prove
Use seals to show visible opening, while keeping chain-of-custody records.
A void or tamper-evident seal can make opening more visible when it is applied across a closure. It may support a packing routine, but it does not prove who opened a parcel or guarantee that contents were untouched. Choose a seal suited to the surface and temperature.
Record seal numbers for sensitive items and pair them with an order or shipment reference. If a seal is damaged on arrival, photograph it and follow the seller’s incident process. Do not describe a basic sticker as a security guarantee.
