Shipping labels and packing slips: what each one does

Know which sheet belongs on the parcel and which one belongs inside.

A shipping label identifies the parcel for the carrier and normally includes a route or service barcode. A packing slip summarizes what is inside the order for the seller and customer. They can be printed together in one workflow, but they serve different purposes.

Use the postage label supplied by your carrier or selling platform for an actual shipment. Add a packing slip when it helps with picking, returns, or customer support. Never place two competing carrier labels on the same package.
